Based on initial estimates of mandatory UAS Fund contributions, support from the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG), and donor funding, NICTA forecasts the following approximate levels of fund income from 2023 to 2027.
This forecast assumes licensed operators will contribute up to 2% of their annual revenue. These are conservative estimates and do not account for other potential sources of contributions or higher industry revenue growth.
Budget Summary and Allocation
Specific budget allocations for UAS projects under each initiative and program will be determined during the development of annual Operational Plans.
The Strategic Plan forecasts a yearly budget of around K32 million. Of this, over K28 million is budgeted for the Broadband Initiative. The Meaningful Connectivity and Broadcasting Initiatives will receive annual budgets of K1.2 million and K2.6 million, respectively.
